These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the website at bjjgraph.org (the “Service”), an educational Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu knowledge graph and training tool operated by Diogo Seca (“we”, “us”). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
1. Acceptance of terms
By accessing or using BJJGraph, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and by our Privacy Policy.
2. The Service
BJJGraph is a free, educational knowledge graph and training tool for Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. The Service is currently in beta and under active development. It is provided “as is” and “as available”, and its features, content, and availability may change, be interrupted, or be discontinued at any time without notice.
3. Accounts
You may use most of the Service without an account. Creating an account is optional and is offered via Google sign-in (SSO) or email and password.
- You are responsible for activity that occurs under your account and for keeping your credentials secure.
- You agree to provide accurate information and to notify us of any unauthorised use of your account.
- We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms;
- Attempt to disrupt, overload, or interfere with the Service or its infrastructure;
- Scrape, harvest, or bulk-download content except as permitted by the applicable content licence;
- Reverse-engineer, circumvent, or attack the authentication system or security controls;
- Use the Service to infringe the rights of others.
5. Safety disclaimer — important
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and martial-arts training carry an inherent risk of serious injury.
The content on BJJGraph is provided for informational and educational purposes only. It is not instruction, coaching, or a substitute for training under a qualified instructor. In particular:
- Always train under the supervision of a qualified instructor, with a willing and properly prepared partner, using appropriate equipment and a safe environment.
- Many techniques described on the Service — including chokes, joint locks, and throws — can cause serious injury or death if applied incorrectly or without proper supervision.
- You assume all risk arising from practising, attempting, or relying on any technique or information presented on the Service.
- Consult a physician before beginning any physical training programme.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we accept no liability for any injury, loss, or damage resulting from your use of, or reliance on, the content of the Service.
6. No professional advice; no warranty
The Service is provided for general educational use. We make no warranty that the content is accurate, complete, current, or fit for any particular purpose. The Service does not provide medical, legal, or professional advice.
7. Intellectual property
The content of BJJGraph (text, data, and graph) is © Diogo Seca and is made available under the project’s content licence (a PolyForm licence). The underlying site generator (Quartz) is provided under its own open-source (MIT) licence. You agree to respect the terms of the applicable licences. The BJJGraph name and branding remain the property of their owner.
8. Affiliate disclosure
Some outbound links on the Service (for example, links to BJJFanatics) are affiliate links. If you click such a link and make a purchase, we may earn a commission at no additional cost to you. This helps support the Service. We are not responsible for third-party websites or their content.
9. User contributions
The Service lets you contribute limited data, such as votes that nudge technique success rates and your training progress. By contributing, you grant us permission to store and process that data as needed to operate and improve the Service, as described in the Privacy Policy.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the Service and its operator shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising from your access to or use of (or inability to use) the Service. Nothing in these Terms limits any liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by applicable European Union law and the law of the operator’s place of establishment within the EU. Nothing in these Terms removes or limits any mandatory consumer-protection rights you have under the law of your country of residence. Where a dispute cannot be resolved amicably, it shall be subject to the courts competent under applicable EU and local consumer law.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the effective date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
